How-to Plasti-Dip Your Lexus in Just a Few Easy Steps

Looking for a simple way to make your Lexus SUV, coupe or sedan look way cooler than what it does now? Plasti-Dip just might be the answer you are looking for. At least for this Lexus owner it was. He was able to take his car from drab to fab in a few “easy” steps.

We found this awesome YouTube video from Murdered Ink, which will actually take you by the hand, step-by-step into what it took to Plasti-Dip this Lexus IS, and therefore making it glow in this amazing “Intense Teal” color. In this video you will see them prepping their workspace to limit their mess-making, removing all parts that aren’t being painted, taping various components, as well as the “painting” process.

To give you a little knowledge-blast, Plasti-Dip is a form of air-dry, specialty spray rubber coating. Theoretically, it can be peeled-off without any damage to whatever you might apply it on. Car DIY’ers like to use Plasti-Dip because there is no sanding required and not much paint-prepping involved. Just like any other do-it-yourself project, using the correct technique is going to be key to getting the proper results.

Enjoy!
