Rare 2JZ-Powered Lexus IS 300 SportCross is Up For Sale With No Reserve

Things are kind of crazy in the used car market right now. As a result of this, when we come across an interesting ride, which was maintained by a fellow car enthusiast, we can’t help but covet it. A gorgeous 2002 Lexus IS 300 SportCross was recently listed for sale on famous YouTuber Doug DeMuro’s auction website- Cars & Bids. The listing was created by Cars & Bids user Wag0nb0i, who also happens to be Doug’s former colleague during his stint at Jalopnik.
The current owner bought the car almost 4 years ago, in December 2017. As fellow automotive enthusiasts, we reckon this rare Lexus IS 300 wagon was well maintained. The highest bid right now stands at $7700, and the auction ends on December 2 at 12:30 AM (IST). The car is currently located in Croton-on-Hudson, New York, and only has 92,500 miles on the odometer. This 2002 IS 300 SportCross is currently up for auction with no reserve.
The ’02 IS 300 SportCross has only been driven around 20,000 miles since the current owner took possession of the vehicle. The Japanese automaker’s capable 3-liter 2JZ-GE inline-6 motor powers the SportCross.
This IS 300 SportCross comes with a clean title even though it was declared a total loss in December 2019.
In its factory spec, the six-cylinder powerplant could produce 215 HP of maximum power and 218 lb-ft of peak torque. The power goes to the rear wheels, and the motor hooks up to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The IS 300 SportCross rides on a set of 17-inch wheels and was last serviced in August 2020.
According to the vehicle’s Carfax report, the odometer reading of this IS 300 SportCross has not been tampered with. The vehicle history also indicates that this wagon was involved in 3 accidents which resulted in minor damages. The car was even declared a total loss after its last accident in December 2019. However, the state of New York does not offer salvage titles for vehicles that are more than eight years old. As a result of this, this car comes with a clean title.
