RC 350 Hops Like a (Rocket) Bunny Over the Roads of Atlanta

Once blue, Luis Angel’s now-purple RC 350 hops around the Southeast with a Rocket Bunny body kit, is Angel’s second build overall.

Back in the middle of the New ’10s, Lexus delivered their “Radical Coupe” to the world, the RC. The hottest version, of course, is the RC F, which dropped cover at the Detroit Auto Show in 2014, then landing in showrooms in November for the 2015 model year. Not far from it, though, is the RC 350, whose 314 horses and 280 lb-ft of torque is more than enough for those in the pursuit of perfection.

One such owner is Luis Angel (Luweex on Instagram). Based in Atlanta, Angel’s RC 350 hops around the roads of the Southeast in its finest purple outfit. We recently interviewed him via email about his build, and how he made it stand out in the Hollywood of the South.

“[I’ve] always been into car culture,” said Angel. “[The RC 350 is] my second build. I probably waited two months before slamming it.”

Purchased at an Audi dealership in nearby Duluth, Georgia, Angel’s build began in earnest in May 2020. Originally white with a red interior, the RC 350 was wrapped in blue before winding up with a Lamborghini-inspired purple paint job. The engine is stock, though it boasts a full Greddy exhaust to allow the 3.5-liter 2GR-FKS V6 to sing like never before. And to top it all off, the Lexus wears a full Rocket Bunny widebody kit, plus an airbag suspension to turn up the style to 11.

“Everyone wants to know the name of the wrap,” said Angel. “When I tell them it’s paint, they say, ‘Wowwww, no wonder it’s so nice and bright!’ I know I probably did [my build] sort of fast, but my last build took four years, and I didn’t even finish it. All takes time.”

Built for cruising rather than racing, Angel’s taking his RC 350 to shows around the Southeast, including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Orlando, and Daytona Beach. The one big change he’d love to do is replace the old infotainment screen for a newer unit.

“Honestly, I learned how strong & reliable these cars are,” said Angel. “My Lexus makes me want to stick with their brand forever.”
