Record Lexus Sales Month Makes It a November to Remember
Lexus sales are booming, in no small part thanks to the staggering number of RX models flying off showroom floors.
With 29,340 total vehicles sold last month, Lexus rolled to its best November in history. And this is the second straight month that our favorite marque has posted record sales.
We expected the new RX to be the driving force behind the sales figures, per usual, but we didn’t expect just how hard the charge would be. And apparently, neither did the company’s brass. According to ResponseJP, 2016 Lexus RX models sold 18 times more than the sales projections for the new SUV’s first full month on the road.
But it wasn’t just the new models that were moving; the outgoing 2015 model also contributed to the record month. All told, Lexus sold 10,771 RX models in November, over a thousand units more than November 2014.
The refreshed LX also fared well, selling 512 models, compared to 425 last year — an increase of nearly 31 percent. And the NX continues to chug along too, with 3,284 models sold.
Unfortunately, as Lexus Enthusiast notes, the cars aren’t quite pulling the load the way the trucks are. The GS and the RC are the only car models making positive year over year gains. Any guesses as to why that would be?
