Show Off Your Lexus at ‘Global Cars & Coffee,’ May 10
After receiving 140 submissions from eight countries for debut event, museum is compiling digital vehicle submissions for next virtual car show.
Following a very successful debut last month, the Petersen Automotive Museum has announced that it will continue compiling digital vehicle submissions every two weeks for its virtual Global Cars & Coffee events. The next event is scheduled to air on the museum’s YouTube channel on May 10.
The world’s first Global Cars & Coffee, which aired live on the Petersen YouTube channel on April 26, featured 140 vehicles from enthusiasts in France, Germany, Australia, England, Canada, United Arab Emirates, South America, and all over the United States. The compilation video (above) garnered more than 10,000 views in the first 24 hours, with more than 2,000 hours watched and over 1,000 live views.
“The overwhelming response to the Petersen Automotive Museum’s Global Cars & Coffee shows the passion of car enthusiasts worldwide,” said Petersen Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “This shared passion unites the global car community, and we are proud to continue serving as a platform for entertainment, education and the love of the automobile during these times of uncertainty.”
Enthusiasts can participate by following three easy steps:
- Record a short, 20- to 30-second video of your car (exterior, interior, engine, and start-up). Videos must be shot in landscape format.
- Upload your video to Dropbox, Google Drive, or YouTube.
- Fill out this form with your information, car story, and video link.
All submissions will receive a YouTube link 24 hours prior to the Global Cars & Coffee live stream. During the event, the Petersen will open a poll so viewers can vote on the coveted People’s Choice Award.
Following the poll and a brief celebration, the museum will announce the Petersen Perfection Award and Best in Show. All awards will be shipped to their owners following the event.
