Spotted in Long Beach: One Lemony Yellow LC 500
Does bright yellow do the lines of the LC 500 justice, or does it just make the Lexus look like a sleek lemon?
These days, the most popular automotive color choices are pretty, well, nondescript. For the most part. Those hues include retina pleasing shades like grey, white, black, and silver. Which are essentially colors that even a dog can discern. But does that mean we’ve become boring with our color choices? Is it time to return to the brighter and more exciting color palettes of the past?
Just take a glance at this bright yellow 2018 LC 500 we spotted at last week’s Toyota Grand Prix at Long Beach. It’s the first controversially colored LC we’ve seen yet, as most press photogs favor a more traditional red. And while we, as a general rule, aren’t fans of colors you commonly see on Easter suits, this is probably about as good as a yellow car can possibly look.
The black accents and grey wheels provide a nice contrast to the retina burning hue. But at the end of the day, it’s still a yellow car. Even if it is one of the prettier body styles on the market today. So we have to know, would you ever consider buying a yellow LC 500? Or a yellow vehicle in general? Heck, do you even own a yellow piece of clothing? Let us know in the comments below!
