Spruce up Your GS F With Some Discounted Upgrades
Club Lexus forum member put some effort into building a 2016 Lexus GS F. Now he’s parting out the performance goodies at a discount.
It’s a pretty widely known fact that modifications to a car do not generally add value when said car is sold to a new owner. Sure, there are always exceptions to the rule. But generally speaking, if you’re parting with a car that has been modified it’s usually best to remove those upgrades if at all possible. That’s doubly true when the car in question is as nice as the one that Club Lexus forum member MercuryISF is selling. The 2016 Lexus GS F is a pretty nice example of this sports sedan. This model is one of the few that Lexus used a stand-alone F badge on. Under the hood is a 467 horsepower V8, the same one the was used on the RC F coupe. MercuryISF is now selling the upgrades he installed on the car.
According to MercuryISF the upgrades were only on the car for a scant 2,000 miles before he decided to move on to a different vehicle. This car was no doubt a blast to drive, as least judging from the parts that are for sale. The exhaust system is a Tom’s axle-back setup constructed of titanium. The exhaust has an asking price of $4,500. These usually retail for around $6,300, so that’s not a bad price for a barely used performance part. The seller notes that the exhaust sounds great with none of the dreaded freeway drone that can come with a free-flowing exhaust. The exhaust was paired with an Apexi resonated mid-pipe that lets the engine sing even more and that’s for sale separately. There are also a set of PPE equal length headers up for sale.
Anyone looking for a nice set of wheels for their Lexus would be wise to check out the set that were on MercuryISF’s GS. These are BC forged alloy wheels in a brushed, dark black finish that measure 20×10-inches at the front and 20×11-inches at the back. The wheels come mounted with tires as well, in this case sticky Michelin PS4s. The tires measure a generous 305/30-20 at the back and 265/30-20 up front and have less than 1500 miles on them.
MercuryISF is also selling a few choice suspension components. These include a set of RR Racing steering response bushings that should sharpen up your steering feel. At the more extreme end is a set of KW coilovers that will allow you to dial in the perfect ride height. These have less than 2,000 miles on them. As an added bonus they will come with top hats as well for an easy installation. Also up for grabs are a set of JDM vent visors as well as a set of carbon fiber mirror caps. Both of those components have been covered in protective clear bra.
