Lexus’s new LC 500 spot may not be groundbreaking, but it sure does sound good.

The LC 500 will make its hotly anticipated U.K. debut at the legendary Goodwood fest. And we’re not just talking about a pedestal debut either, as Lexus’s new flagship coupe will take on the festival’s famed hill climb too.

This morning, one of our community managers spotted this barely camouflaged Lexus LC 500 doing a little testing on the 605 Freeway near Carson, California.

Ever since Lexus debuted the stunning LC 500 coupe at the 2016 NAIAS in Detroit, we’ve be clamoring to learn everything we can about the car. Now, thanks to this interview with the LC’s Chief Engineer, Koji Sato, and Chief Designer, Tadao Mori, we’re getting an earful.

Lexus brought the LC 500h to the New York Auto Show, but didn’t do anything about it, except put it on a rotating stand. No press conference, no fancy lights, no confetti—nothing.

There’s no doubt that Lexus has been steadily eating up some of Western Europe’s luxury automobile market, but they still have a long road ahead if they want to beat out the Germans. Hopefully, the LC 500 and LC 500h should help make up some ground.
