In one of the first big upsets of Nitto’s Battle of the Streets, the Lexus LFA completely dismantled the Mercedes AMG C63. In Stuttgart, they’re already calling it “The Tragedy of Los Angeles.”
Love it or hate it—and we know, you hate it, we hate it—Yoichi Imamura’s OTG Motor Sports drift LFA is a real thing, and it will compete in Japanese D1. We reported on this supercar sacrilege when photos first surfaced in January, but now video has surfaced.
The LFA is—by all accounts—a phenomenal car. Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson famously even called it the best car he’d ever driven. But when the V10 supercar completed its two-year run in 2012, it left no clear heir. And we should feel lucky it happened at all.
On the surface, the idea of watching a car get detailed might sound about as exciting as watching paint dry or an episode of The Mentalist. But when the car is an LFA, and the gents doing the detailing are the wizards from Houston’s Vive Auto Finishing and Detailing, it’s a different experience entirely.
