The Big Fat 2015 Lexus RC-F Gallery
We’ve known about the details for a while now, but there were still a few surprises. The V8 in the RC-F will make at least 450 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. That’s great obviously–suck on those numbers M3!–but the fact that it’s capable of running in the Atkinson cycle makes it more interesting. What that means is when you’re puttering around town in an RC-F, that 5-liter V8 up front is burning gas like a Prius. It won’t be getting 40 mpg city like it’s less exciting sibling, but it will get better mileage than any of the Toyota sports cars before it.
It’s just an example of how the world of sports cars are changing. Not only will you be able to get from 0 – 60 faster than your passenger can say “oh sh–“, you’ll also be able to save some gas when you’re not out there driving like Ken Gushi.
It’s an exciting time to be a Lexus fan. Browse some of the photos we’ve got from the reveal in Detroit below. You can read the full press release here.
