Toyota and Yamaha worked on another engine at the same time as the 1LR-GUE, a 5.0-liter V8 known as the 2UR-GSE. The big, Formula One-inspired V8 debuted with IS F at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, throwing down over 400 horses and 317 lb-ft of torque.
Today, the 2UR-GSE lives under the hoods of the RC F, LC 500, and LC 500 Convertible, as well as the departing GS F. Power output is closer to 500 than 400 horses, the LC 500 and LC 500 Convertible making the most at 471 horses.
