Seeing a Lexus on the big auction block is a rare happening. These five not only turned up, but rolled away with the biggest numbers.
How often do you see a Lexus on the auction block? If it’s on eBay or Bring a Trailer, it might be a daily occurrence. When it comes to the big auction houses, though, it’s a rare sight. We’re not sure why that is.
However, when a Lexus does hit the big red carpet, it’s more likely than not it’ll rake up the big bucks. When these five turned up, though, the vaults opened like never before.
Most of what you see will be an LFA extravaganza, starting with this Pearl Gray example. Landing in Monterey back in 2017, Mecum Auctions expected a range of $335,000 to $375,000 on the low-mile super Lexus. This one even came with a battery tender and a first aid kit, plus all of its books and manuals.
Cameron Aubernon's path to automotive journalism began in the early New '10s. Back then, a friend of hers thought she was an independent fashion blogger.
Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.
From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.
Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.
Where do you go for answers when you have a Lexus with a gorgeous leather interior but are not sure about how to maintain that luxurious look? The "Club Lexus" forums, of course.
