3. Lexus SC 430

2008 SC 430

The Lexus SC 430 was so good that Jeremy Clarkson hated it. He devoted an entire Top Gear special complaining about how bad it was. I personally think he’s jealous of the SC 430. Lexus built a car it envisioned winding its way along the Cote d’ Azur to a weekend in Monaco. Its styling looks better today, almost 20 years after it launched. Granted, it does not stir the soul like the current LC, but that’s not the point. The SC 430 offers grace and refinement. It’s a four seasons car built for people who enjoy effortless motoring.

Mark Webb is fascinated by anything automotive and particularly loves cars that are unusual or have a good story. He's owned a variety of cars from 60's muscle, Japanese imports, and oddities like a VW Thing and Porsche 924. After 20 years in the automotive and tech industries, he's a walking encyclopedia of car info and is always on the lookout for his next project or a good road trip.
