Top 5 Lexus Engines of All Time

4) 2GR 3.5L V6

Lexus 2GR-FKS

The 2GR is a sublimely good engine. It makes upwards of 320 horsepower in stock form and delivers power smoothly up to its redline. Used in the ES, RX, and IS cars, it also powers Lotus sports cars, including the Evora, Exige, and the new Lotus Emira.

It’s also a popular engine swap for the Toyota MR2, as well as other mid-engine cars, early 4Runners, and just about anything that can accommodate a V6. It’s not as well known as the 2JZ engine, but it should be.

Mark Webb is fascinated by anything automotive and particularly loves cars that are unusual or have a good story. He's owned a variety of cars from 60's muscle, Japanese imports, and oddities like a VW Thing and Porsche 924. After 20 years in the automotive and tech industries, he's a walking encyclopedia of car info and is always on the lookout for his next project or a good road trip.
