Top 5 Misses: 2021 Lexus IS

If there was one major gripe that was nearly universal across the forum, it was the lack of any major engine upgrades. Lexus has been using the same 3.5L motor for more than a decade now. While it was a proper piece of work when it was new, winning several Ward’s Best Engine picks, it’s starting to show its age. This is just a small selection of thoughts from the forum thread.

This is350 is dead upon arrival for what they claim as a “sports” sedan. We all know what the enthusiast wants, and it ain’t a 15 year old engine. – TimLe09288

Should have had either the TT V6 from the LS or the B58 from the Supra. – BrettKA7

Several folks did point out that new engine can often introduce reliability issues, but overall the voice of the people is clear. We need more horsepower.
