Toyota Introduces Trailhunter Grade Overlanding Trucks at SEMA 2022
Although technically still a concept, Toyota Trailhunter trucks will be Overlanding rigs outfitted with Toyota Genuine or Associated Accessory Products.
Toyota didn’t waste any time rolling out new products at the start of SEMA 2022. The company introduced the new Toyota Trailhunter truck shortly after the show opened its doors. What makes this extra special is it is not just a new grade of truck, but a whole new approach to accessory products to take your Toyota further than ever before. Trailhunter trucks are designed for Overlanding duties. These rigs are enhanced with Associated Accessory Products (AAP) available directly from Toyota. Toyota vehicles have long been known for their reliability and off-road chops. But the Trailhunter line and AAP is a new level of commitment from Toyota to the off-road enthusiast.
“Trailhunter trucks will come straight from the factory equipped to meet the needs of Overlanding enthusiasts,” said Lisa Materazzo, group vice president – Toyota Division Marketing. “These trucks will be developed in-house by our engineering teams and will be the most capable OEM Overlanding solutions designed to meet Toyota’s legendary quality, durability and reliability standards.” With the latest GR cars, we have seen a serious commitment to on-road performance. The Trailhunter and AAP shows that same level of commitment to those who seek their thrills off the pavement.
Overlanding Toyota Style
It is no secret that Overlanding has seen a spike in popularity over the last several years. Toyota has recognized this trend and the Trailhunter line will be built specifically for that purpose. Starting with a Toyota Tundra is a good start but if you are going to go deep off-road and spend significant time there even the Tundra can use some help. The Trailhunter you see here is equipped with a modified suspension, skid plates, roof racks, bumpers, lighting, a refrigerator, and a rooftop tent. Everything you need to live off the grid is here.
Associated Accessory Products
The Trailhunter line also introduced AAP from Toyota. These products are engineered specifically for your Toyota vehicle and if you buy them at the time your buy the vehicle the cost of the AAP upgrades can be rolled into financing. That is certainly a convenient option, but buyer beware because it will make it awfully tempting to overspend your budget.
Trailhunter
Although technically still a concept, this reveal at SEMA is most likely just the beginning of this exciting new line of vehicles from Toyota. The company will share more details in 2023. However, this initial release is a good sign for all enthusiasts. The Trailhunter badge is designed to resemble a compass. It is meant to represent that the journey is as important as the destination. The Trailhunter will take you in any direction you wish to travel. And with a full suite from AAP you can stay wherever you end up for quite some time. What do you think of the new Toyota Trailhunter and the off-road optimized set of products from AAP?
