Tuned RC F Possesses Furious Howling Exhaust
Built by a Club Lexus member, 2015 RC F features an Invidia Q300 exhaust and equal-length, ceramic-coated headers to give the V8 a louder voice.
Lexus wears many hats when it comes to its lineup. There’s the smooth luxury of the LS, of course. The ES, meanwhile, offers a gateway into the pursuit of perfection. The GX and LX bring luxury to the great outdoors, and the RX defines what all luxury crossovers should aspire to be. And then, there’s the RC F, a brute of a machine aimed at whatever track it wishes to conquer.
In production from 2015 on, the RC F is definitely a performer on the track, from Vasser Sullivan in IMSA, to Team TOM’S in Super GT. It’s a formidable machine on the street, too, like this 2015 RC F we found in the Club Lexus Marketplace.
At first, the RC F built by its current owner, Club Lexus forum member iamnaeem, looks like your standard-issue muscle coupe. The White Pearl paint looks wonderful, serving as a canvas for all of the carbon fiber trim and blackened Rays GramLights placed upon it. The lowered stance adds to the violence this Lexus was built to choose, too. Yet, there’s something lurking under the surface that places this machine into the danger zone.
Sure. The 5.0-liter 2UR-GSE V8 packs a mighty punch with 467 horses and 389 lb-ft of torque on tap. However, this one’s mightier thanks to a few upgrades. Said upgrades include equal-length, ceramic-coated headers, a Takeda air intake, and an Invidia Q300 exhaust system. And of course, there’s the TunedByLoi Stage 2 tune for a bigger boost in power. This RC F is ready for the octagon.
Since leaving the showroom floor over six years ago, the RC F’s logged around 68,000 miles of fury. In that time, it’s also avoided the accident gremlin lurking by the roadside. The current owner adds that he’s testing the waters, and may end up keeping it anyway.
All in all, this is a really cool RC F. It’s not often Lexus decides to pursuit perfection through brute strength. We’re certainly glad the crew in Nagoya did, though; it makes for a wonderful foundation for total domination.
