There is not Another RX SUV That Looks Like This One!
You might drop your coffee and your jaw after seeing this one. Insane? We definitely think so.
Have you ever stumbled across something that you just couldn’t believe so you had to share it with somebody? Well, this is exactly what we are doing with this Lexus RX that we recently found by accident. Once you see what we are talking about, it will all start to make a lot of sense.
From what we know, this is the “Lexus RX (c) GOEMON 2019“, which seems to be based on a fourth generation RX F Sport. We are considering this to be the case because even in its uniqueness it still retains some F Sport features like the signature LED headlights. The creators of this RX are known as SCL Global Concept. They are a Russian brand who is according to their website description, “one of the world’s leading companies in the field of restyling (tuning) of premium and luxury cars.”
What you see in these pictures is their personal interpretation of a Lexus RX. To call this new design direction avant-garde would be surely an understatement. It’s styling hasn’t much been refined, but rather completely revolutionized. According to the description of the GOEMON, none of the additions made to the SUV made require any type of modification and are plug and play. This body kit of sorts features a brand new hood, front bumper, rear bumper, wheel arch extensions, side skirts, upper and lower trunk lid spoilers, and a new front grille.
That is a lot of parts to consider. Its almost a new car from the exterior at this point. However, these new body panels are not made of ABS plastic like the OE panels would, but rather “ultra-high-temperature fiberglass” and weigh the same as their OE counterparts.
Let’s be honest, the styling of the RX before could be considered sharp and maybe even futuristic, but this is a whole new level. Extreme might be a good word to start with. Personally, I am a big fan of the added aggressiveness to the body. The wheel arches, rear bumper, and front hood all look very proper and menacing.
The obvious polarizing feature without a doubt is the front grille. This has taken Lexus’ signature design cue and turned the dial to 11. It’s honestly so radical, we aren’t even sure what to think of it. I don’t know if I like it and I don’t know if I dislike it either. However, we are sure you guys will have a lot to say about this SUV. What do you think? Did this company hit the nail on the head with the styling or is this a giant post-modern flop?
