What did you do to your LS430 today?

One of the oldest threads here on ClubLexus continues to see posts on the daily! Why not share your story today?

One of the most fun threads here on ClubLexus has to be “What did you to your LS430 today?.” Pretty much considered a “standard” thread you’d see across any forum, we always find interesting to see what people are up to with their cars. This one here on ClubLexus has been ongoing since 2014. That’s a lot of post and a lot of people’s days in one thread. Curious to see what people are on about through out all those years? We will be choosing some of our favorites through the thread and sharing them with you guys here.

We will start from the very beginning, all the way back in 2014 and make our way from there. Forum member Slvr Surfr let us know back then that his LS430 had just been “All waxed up and ready for the streets!. About to give her a nice interior detail, clean out the throttle body and MAS. Just received the OEM HID’s from Amazon today that I plan on replacing tonight. Here’s a few shots of her blinging! LOL.”

We have to say that that fresh detail definitely makes this big body sedan really stand out. Not to mention, we think we understand the username a little bit better now after seeing the car.

Fast forwarding into 2016, forum member Johnhav430 said “Lunch time and 8 quarters in my pocket….what to do…..” Got to prioritize keeping the Lexus in top notch shape! Forum member Legender was impressed by managing to clean the car with so little money and stated “Wow… I can’t do a whole lot of cleaning with only 8 quarters… you must have it down to an art form.” Johnhav430 would later say that the picture we see is before he even did the cleaning. Wow, it looks spotless to me.

Just a few post below that one, Forum member Scootymad blew us away by taking his LS430 to the drag strip for a quick run down the 1/4 mile. The LS might be a little bit of a boat, but don’t think it can’t party when it comes down to it! He let us know that “I took my LS down to the local dragstrip for a quick blast. Slapped some FD RX7 wheels on with some dirty old Michelins (there’s about a thick black Mediterranean one between the wheel and the caliper), and proceeded to hose them off the best way possible. For a big heavy old pig, it sure moves out quite well, had a best of 15.1 ET at 93mph with no-prep, rain and cold weather.” Now that’s properly badass.

A couple of months in the future, forum member Genofish would give his LS some sweet upgrades. “I added new Akebono front and rear ceramic brake pads, new drilled and slotted rotors, painted calipers and added Lexus logo stickers and new stop tech braided steel brake lines. Unfortunately the brakes are still soft and mushy. I did the same changes on my 2002 GS300 and the brakes were very firm. We bled them ourselves and then I had a shop bleed them and it was a little better.” We have to say that his 2005 LS430 is definitely looking good with these upgraded brakes and wheels.

Hi! My name is Daud Gonzalez and I am a local Southern California car enthusiast who loves motorsport to the core. I have spent many years diving deep into modifying, building, and racing cars since beginning my journey with a 2011 BMW 335i Sedan back around 2015. Since then, I have built alongside many close friends several cars for motorsport, including several road race and drifting builds. Few experiences can replicate the full-body immersion that driving a car at the limit on a race track provides. Until that gets boring (which currently seems like never), I will remain dedicated to enjoying motorsports! Thankfully I was able to combine that passion of racing and high-octane adrenaline with another pleasure of mine: writing. I hope you enjoy reading these articles as much as I enjoyed writing them. If you are in SoCal, find me on the racetrack!
