Member Shows off Sweet Lexus USB IS F

It took years of searching, but one Club Lexus member found his dream ride right here in the forums!

For most of us, landing on a dream car is pretty easy. But actually finding the perfect example of said dream car? Well, that takes a little time, usually. At least that’s the case with Club Lexus member IronNam and his 2011 Lexus USB IS F. After years of searching and almost pulling the trigger, he finally found his dream ride. Right here in the forums!

“I’ve been lurking and learning here for several years. Almost bought Mr. Fong’s 2008 IS F back in 2013 but that never happened. In 2014, a 1995 Supra Turbo took precedence. Recently, Mr. Poole put his mint 2011 Lexus USB IS F up for sale and I knew I had to hop on it. After a painful process dealing with the bank before, during, and after the holidays, things finally got through. I picked up the car and got it registered in Kansas. Yeah, I’ve already put over 4,000 miles on it. I can only tell you how much I love this car. I’ve been obsessing over these forever!”

Well, we certainly can’t argue with the OP’s impeccable taste. But while most of us immediately start modding cars when we take possession, it looks like this one might just stay relatively stock. For now.

“The IS F is going to stay fairly stock for now. I’m glad I have a reliable and extremely fun car to use for school and work. The Pickup grenaded its 22RE 3 days before the Supra arrived, that was 3 years ago. I’ve been in the process of swapping in my VVTi 1UZ from a ’98 SC400 donor car I got. The Supra is under the knife after 45k miles.”

Given the circumstances, we certainly can’t blame him for wanting a reliable driver. But in nearly the same breath, the OP outlines some plans for his dream Lexus USB IS F.

“I think in the near future, I’ll get some more go-fast parts for the IS F. I may do 18″ wheels and tires first. 19″ tire prices are not fun. Having grip is nothing new to me, in fact, I’d love even more. The IS F may see some autocrossing and the circuit this year if things go smooth for me.”

In all fairness, the thing’s pretty fast just the way it is, as we can see in the video above.

“Zero to 171 mph, only using 30% ethanol blend. Really easy. That’s 4.5 gallons for an empty IS F on 91 octane with E10 fuel. Anywhere between 4.0 – 4.5 gallons is good per full tank.”

Much of the mileage the OP racks up comes from a pleasant trip across the Southwestern U.S. Where he also snagged some awesome pics, of course.

Not too shabby for a mostly stock ride. But if he has it his way, the OP won’t keep it like that for long.

“I’m excited to pick up a Borla exhaust soon. Change up the tone some. Even the factory airbox itself sounds good. I’ll keep it simple for the time being. I do want to run square & wide 18s to keep tire costs low, especially if I’m planning to occasionally track it. All my vehicles have wiiiiide 18s.”

You can bet we’ll stay tuned for all that. And you can do the same by heading over here. As of now, the OP hasn’t started an official build thread. But we wouldn’t be surprised in the least to see it happen soon. After all, who can resist the urge of the aftermarket, especially when you’ve been waiting for years to have the chance!
