Will These Renderings Accurately Predict the 2026 Lexus LX Refresh?
If the 2026 Lexus LX does indeed get a mid-cycle refresh, it may look like this, and get some big changes inside and under the hood.
As is the case with many models in its lineup, Lexus didn’t bother to update the LX in any sort of significant manner for a rather long time, which left the full-size SUV a bit, well, old in a market full of fresh faces. However, that all. changed in a big way with the debut of the all-new, redesigned fourth-generation model that launched in 2021 for the 2022 model year, which is a completely new product in every conceivable way. However, recent rumors indicate that the 2026 Lexus LX may usher in a mid-cycle refresh ripe with changes, too.
Not much is currently known about what this 2026 Lexus LX refresh could consist of, nor if it will actually even happen. Regardless, that didn’t stop the folks at AutoYa from trying to predict what those changes might be – and we aren’t just talking about its updated exterior styling. However, that is where we start here, at least, with a revamped front-end design touting new headlights that sport a slightly different shape, a revised version of the current LX’s massive grille, and new bumpers, to boot.
This look isn’t a massive departure from the current model – to be expected for a mid-cycle update – but it does offer enough changes that most fans will recognize it as a newer version of the LX. The most notable update in that area is the addition of a thick trim bar at the top of the grille, and personally, we’re digging the grille design itself, which features some 3D “floating” elements that are visually interesting. Rounding out the exterior changes are a set of slightly restyled taillights, which don’t deviate much from the existing pieces, but do incorporate the Lexus badge that’s currently on the tailgate itself.
Inside the cabin, the changes are a bit more notable, at least in terms of the infotainment in this theoretical 2026 Lexus LX. There, the current model utilizes two stacked screens in the center, with the top piece protruding from the dash, making it look a bit, well, tacked on and something of an afterthought. Here, however, our designers have replaced it with a single screen in the center of the dash, which would be a big upgrade if it comes to fruition.
AutoYa also goes so far as to speculate on the addition of a new powertrain for the 2026 Lexus LX, too – the same plug-in hybrid setup used in the TX 550h+ – which pairs a 3.5-liter gas V6 with a pair of electric motors to generate a combined 404 horsepower and offer up 39 miles of all-electric driving range via its smaller battery. With PHEVs becoming all the rage these days – and the TX version being in high demand – such a move makes perfect sense, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer to find out if any of these predictions will ultimately become a reality.
