Wisconsin Woman Rams Camaro Into Husband’s New Lexus
It’s never a good idea to piss off your wife, but you should really think twice about it when you own a Lexus. Because if your wife is anything like Mandy L. Gerke, then your Lexus might be under attack. Allegedly.
Gerke, a resident of Tomah, Wisconsin, has been accused of ramming her Camaro into her husband’s new Lexus. She then allegedly backed up and smashed into the 2015 Lexus IS 250 one more time. And then, apparently hoping to really put the exclamation point on her actions, Gerke got out of the Camaro, brandished a shovel, and swung on the poor, innocent Lexus.
According to the Lacrosse Tribune: “Authorities were called to a Hemmingford Road residence at about 7:30 p.m. July 3. The man said he was on the phone with Gerke when they began arguing, and he mentioned he got a new car. He said she then drove up the driveway at a high rate of speed and into the side of the Lexus, in which his 68-year-old father was sitting, backed up and rammed it again, according to the report.”
Wow, apparently Gerke did not appreciate the new purchase. Has she not seen how nice the 2015 IS looks?
Jokes aside, Gerke’s actions were way dangerous, especially since she also had a passenger in her car, a 63-year-old female. Fortunately, no one was hurt, or Gerke might be facing more than two counts of recklessly endangering safety, one count of criminal damage to property, and one count of disorderly conduct.
All in all, total damages come out to about $60,000, according to Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. Both cars are registered to Gerke’s husband, which may make for a very tricky auto insurance claim.
Perhaps this won’t come as much of a surprise, but the Lacrosse Tribune also notes that Gerke’s Facebook status reads “separated.” So it appears the arrest and the insurance claim may not be the only tricky legal issues she’s going to be navigating.
Now, I’m no lawyer, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once, and in my professional opinion, if these allegations are true, then these two may just have irreconcilable differences. I certainly couldn’t stay with someone who treated a Lexus like that.
