The ECU has three (3) wires, which will be used for the installation

The BLACK BOX has four (4) wires that need to be attached for the unit to function properly
1) RED provides power to the unit
2) BLACK provides ground to the unit
3) PURPLE sends the modified signal to the factory ECU
4) GREEN receives the signal from the airflow sensor
BEFORE REMOVING WIRES MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY
Starting from the right side of the ECU (refer to diagram for pictured instructions)
*We recommend if possible to solder and shrink-wrap all connections instead of using the supplied connectors.
-Cut the Green with black tracer wire approx. 2.5 inches from the ECU. With the provided spade
connectors connect the PURPLE black box wire to the Green with black tracer wire still attached to the
ECU. Then connect the GREEN black box wire to the Green With black tracer wire from the Engine
using the second spade connector. (THIS IS THE ONL Y WIRE TO BE CUT)
-The Brown ground wire from the ECU will be t-tapped to the BLACK black box wire.
-The Black with red tracer wire from the ECU will be t-tapped to the RED black box wire.
With the supplied sheet metal screws we recommend placing the black box in two different areas
1) Above the factory ECU
2) Between the factory ECU & the Headlight

I know this is probably a retarded question but what does it do?
I read the link provided and it said something about installing it inside the aftermarket air intake or something? So I take it this has something to do with air intake...?
