Manual Shifting Logic How to reverse? (Now with pics!)
Anyone know how easy or hard it is to reverse the center console upshift and downshift logic?
Anyone done it?
I need to have it "Push up" for downshift and "Pull down" to upshift.
My other car is a BMW SMG and the logic is just that. Pull to Upshift and Push to Downshift. With the 2IS logic the center console stick is useless to me.
The Reverse logic is actually better its used in Racing for a while and if you think about it... a person / cars momentum is already traveling in that direction so under braking you lean forward and thats when you need to downshift hence you push forward on the lever. And reverse for Accelrating...

if you switch the wires, you might get it to reverse but i'm thinking the paddles might switch too.

Ya normal... I'm not normal... Thats the problem having two brands of differnt cars and they're reversed. Last time I wanted to upshift I ended up downshifting on the IS...
I popped open the center console today... I shoudl have taken a Pic. I totally forgot. But theres like 6 wires going into a connector on the side of the shifter I think that controls all the Gears and the + and - So unless someone has a diagram on which wires are which I wouldnt know which to switch.
I guess I can buzz them out but they're packed in too tightly I can get my DMM in there with it still being connected to the gear shifter... and if I pull the connector out obviously I cant read out the signals when moving the gear lever.
SOOOooooo anyone have the pin out drawing for the 2IS center shifter console?

You need to swap the pink and the violet wires. Make shure you get the
wires right out of the switch beacuse it goes into a juction block and
from there there are two pink and two violet wires.

Humm are you serious about that? Have you done it? Cuz I'm really interested in getting them reversed...
I'm not sure if I'm understanding you completly... what do you mean "get the wires right out of the switch?" Do you mean pull out the connector (junction block) and then pull out the wires?
and you said there are two pink wires and two vilot? does each + and each - take 2 wires to control?
Thanks in advance.

Ok I went out and took apart the center console to check out the pink and violet wires but I dont see any pink or violet wires on the side of the shifter (* BLUE CIRCLE *). The only pink and violet wires are where the seat heaters are (* RED CIRCLE *) and where the main connector is. (* GREEN CIRCLE *) so to me it seems that the pink and violet wires control the seat heaters / ventilation.
Can you please clearify?
Thanks

The 2IS wiring diagram has the switch wires labeled as P and V
in color. Those same colors come from the paddle shifter and join
at a junction block and then go into the engine ECU.
The other side of the up and down shift switches is shown as
going to ground trough a W-B colored wire.
The S mode switch has 12 volt power coming into it on a Y colored
wire and the output of the S switch goes to the ECU on a GR
colored wire.
The Park/Neutral Position switch has 5 wires going to it.
12 volts comes in on an LG colored wire, this is the common.
and the output wires going to the engine ECU are B, V, P, and BR
in color.
There should be a total of 10 wires going to the various shifter switches.
EBMCS03, I will email you the wiring diagram in PDF format.
