Does the 2008 IS250 come with the new TSIB brakepads or do they still use the excessively dusty high-performance brakepads?

I don't think lexus will be using breakpads they've been having to replace a number of times on their new cars..

If I had to guess I would say the old ones. I just picked up my new 07 about three weeks ago and it had the "old" pads on it. You will be able to tell after about 20 miles or so, lol.

I really don't know. On one hand Lexus may keep the original high-performance brake pads since this car is meant to be sportier and the customer has the option of swapping them out, on the other hand, they may replace it with the newer pads since alot of people opted to use the new ones.

So its not really as clearcut obvious to me.

Yea I dont know what they would do either. They claim a better stopping power with the dusty brakes, yet a lot of people complained about how dusty they were and wanted to swap for the dustless ones... I think it could go either way.

Maybe they re-designed them for 2008 to give us the same stopping power with the no / less dust build up..

I'll keep looking at my wheels, but it will be a bit harder to tell since I have Liquid Graphite Finish wheels, which will hide the dust better..

Hey maybe thats what they did instead!!! Give US darker wheels to hide the brake dust!!!

^ Don't think so. I have G-Spiders and they get filthy after 2 days of normal commuting with the oem pads . . .

I had my brake pads replaced a few weeks ago. The tech told me that there is a NEW TSIB out. He said that the old pads were too dusty, the newer pads didn't stop very well and that lexus just developed even newer dustless pads that also does a good job of stopping. He told me my car is the second car to get these installed. I'll check my receipt and see what these part numbers are. Maybe he's just pulling my leg

Once you get that part number, maybe we can have "Lobuxracer" check the database to see if these are possibly already on the 2008's...

I have a similar question. I picked up my car a week ago and it's a '07, now how do i know all the TSIB's were performed on the car or do i have to make an appointment and get these done later?

105 miles would be enough to tell.
If you're not complaining about brake dust, you have different pads than earlier IS models.
