The other more important reason why I cannot part out the car is simply because I don't have the OEM parts to put back on the car such as wheels, suspension, brakes etc.

Man Hameed, I did not want to post here this morning since this is a classified. BUT, it has become a discussion thread so I'll just add my surprise and condolences to you for having to make this choice. Good luck.

OMFG Hameed! This is a shocker. You obviously have your priorities straight, that's for sure. A home is a true investment unlike a vehicle. Best of luck with the sale, my friend. You will have another GS in no time.

Hameed,
What you have done is about the most valid and compelling reason for selling a GS. A nice roof that appreciates is more important than a car that depreciates. I just know it that you'll pick up a 2006 GS in a couple of years.

Been in a situation such as yours 8 years ago. I sold my baby, a red MR2-Turbo, to help me buy a second home for rental purposes. It wasn't long enough that I was able to recover and buy an even better car.

So, hope to still see you around.

CL is a like an extended family and I won't be going anywhere.

If I can sell my car in the next three months (that's when I move into the new house - end of September), I will definitely get one of the GS hybrid GT's that Lexus is cooking up now, in a couple of years.

The hybrid sounds nice. Same here, I'm eyeing on it. I'm actually looking into getting a Prius at this time but there's a waiting list and a premium on the price. Whatever that will be saved on fuel cost will be eaten up quickly by the dealer premium- about $5K!!!

Wow, that's a shocker, but not totally since we've talked about our money pit projects!

Well good luck with it Hameed - someone's going to get an AWESOME car!

Man, take out an equity line of credit against the new value of the home after construction and keep the beast!

Very nice home, Beautiful!

Good luck either way.

What's up Jucee - happy to have switched from the CL to the GS?

Mike (BlaXXXima from TMEC) here. I'm looking to do the switchover, although maybe not immediately. Since I've got you here, your car is beautiful buddy - looks great with the Volks. There is a 2001 Black in TO that I'm seeing at about 33$ that has me thinking, and someone directed me to Hameed's link (sorry to hear about the car, but being that I just bought a house and a dental practice, and am having to sell off my souped up 98 Max to support my as$ right now, I feel your pain!!). Hope someone snaps that beauty up. I would consider it, given how much you've done to it (and the money / time it would save me vs. doing my own)... but it's more than I can afford right now.

Anyways - how you liking your ride Jucee? (Hameed - consider it a bump if you haven't sold it yet! Sorry!!).

Mike
