What do you have in your car now? Intake? exhaust?
Why did you take out the srt intake?
Did you like the SRT and Borla combo?

I only ask because I have a 2001 gs300 and wanted to know if it is even worth putting a intake and exhaust in.
So many times I wish I just bought a 400 and not the 300.

 

If this is your goal, no intake or exhaust will give you this.

No, I just mean that if you regret not geting 400 and you are expecting to build a 400 from a 300, short of FI, no bolt on will give the 300 the power of a 400.

 

Ya I know. I should have waited for a 400. I just got such a good deal on my 01 gs300 I could not pass it up. No dealer in the Chicago area was giving me a good price on a 400 when I was in the market. I have been thinking about selling it and get a 430.

I was just wondering how much better the SRT intake and a good exhaust would help the 300? Most people on this forum seem to have a gs400.
I would hate to do the intake and exhaust just get a louder car with no to very little improvements.

 

I think you will be happy with the SRT. bluelex has stated that he felt an improvement when he put it on. For the max gain with an intake, the SRT is your best bet. I have the PLP on mine and although I can feel a slight gain at the high end, it is not night and day. But then again, it costs much less than the SRT.

At this point, if there is an intake to get for power gain, it probably is the SRT. bluelex is selling his off his show car so you know it is in great condition.

Oh, and there are a few on us 300 owners on CL.

D- My intake won't fit your car anyway do to the mas air sensor being different from 98-00 and 01-up gs3's...

I really did love my combo of SRT intake and Borla exhaust. I felt a nice noticable difference when I had them proir to stock. is it a 400 feel, no way. but is it better than stock Yes no doubt it is..I'm selling the intake because of new plans that can't include this intake, I've pre-sold the exhaust because I found one I really have liked for a while and it bacame available.

Oh, and lastly we do have a good amount of gs3 owners here. Don't count us out yet..
