FS: Cleared 98-00 tails w/inners
I replaced my 99 tails with LED's so I thought I'd clear the stock tails and see if anyone wants them. They look real sharp and are a pretty rare upgrade.
I'm not sure these are worth, but considering the rarity and time I put into them, I'll throw out $160 shipped OBO for inners and outers, all wiring harnesses and bulbs included, although you'll need amber or chrome-amber bulbs for the turn signals to be legal without the orange lens. I'll also throw in some brand new SMT 18 LED backup lights from V-LED, $30 value. These won't fit my Sonar tails, I got these before the new tails.
Now onto the detailed description. All lenses are in excellent condition, no fading or scratches. The outers have a few very minor scars from the clearing process. I opened them up using the oven, it was a PITA as the glue in these is very different from my old ES tails I'd done this on and didn't melt apart the way I'd expected it to. They were re-glued with plastic adhesive and a second bead around all the seals after they'd dried to make sure they're sealed up well.
I chipped the bottom inside corner of the passenger side lens, it didn't go all the way through and I glued the chipped piece back on with a plastic adhesive and it's barely noticeable. There's also 2 or 3 spots where the lens started to crack from the inside as I pried it, they are right on the edge and none of the cracks went all the way through the lens. They aren't very noticeable either and none of these spots appear to compromise the seal or structural integrity of the light. I'll have some up-close pictures of these spots up soon. There's also pry marks on the plastic along the edges from the screwdriver used in the opening process, these shouldn't be visible once the lights are mounted. These are IMO minor blemishes, the lights look great but I want to be as clear and thorough as possible in the description so there aren't any surprises.
I'll hopefully have pics up soon, I'm having trouble uploading them from my camera at the moment , but I'll have pics up ASAP!
