I was able to fix mine. I did some reading on the UK boards and it's the surround that has a small tear where it meets the basket. The voice coil is fine. They have been just using hot glue. I did the same and it worked great.

y??????? that is so ghetto and more of a bandaid then a fix with all the expansion that will tear again shortly with hot glue
Sure it is, and when it does rip I'll spend the $300 on a new one. It's probably glue that holds the surround to the basket anyway. A solid bead all the way around and no more issue...for now. I'll enjoy it while I can.

There is a write up on here somewhere of people using aftermarket subs in lieu of the ML sub. With the factory amp, and good results.
BTW When did you get rid of the 300 ? Im sure you like the 430 though I have one of those too
