Default FS: 01+ Style Steering Wheel & Toyota Airbag

!!!SOLD!!!

Go for that complete Aristo look with a 01+ Steering Wheel & Toyota Airbag. I got a great deal on a different wheel so I'm changing it up... again. For this, I used a dual stage Toyota airbag which I converted to single stage so it could work in my 98 GS400. I can convert this back to dual stage also so, this could work on any 98-05 GS. Just tell me if you want single stage(98-00) or dual stage(01-05). The tiptronic will only work if you already have it though. Any questions let me know. I have a few other pics I can send if you want them. This does come with the cruise control switch as well so it is ready to bolt on & plug it.

Thanks for looking,
Ki

I forgot to mention that with a little work this can also work on first gen SC's & GS's. Search in your forums for details on how.

I read up on airbags before I did this. From everything I found converting this to single just gets rid of the partial/weaker deployment. The bag will still deploy, just as a standard full deployment single stage. I bolted a single stage "element" in place of the dual stage. I will let the picture show what I mean. Either one will bolt on and work just fine. The airbag can deploy full or partial so it can be single (full) or dual (full & partial) depending on which way you have it setup.

I'm keeping the cluster. My new steering wheel setup goes well with it.

It would probably leave marks if you pulled it off so, it "could" be removed but I would not recomend it. What are you trying to do?

You could just find an 01+ RX single stage airbag or do what I did and make a single stage yourself. Goog luck with it. If you just need the steering wheel let me know through PM, maybe we can make a deal.

See post #3. It shows how I did it. If you dont know what you are looking at then I don't think you should be messing with airbags. I just unbolted the dual stage from the back of the airbag and bolted on a single stage. There are also ways to wire up the dual stage so it can be used as a dual but I won't get into that here. Just do a search in the SC forum for info on that. I chose to use a factory piece to make it work rather than rewiring.

Yes, this is plug and play for 98-00 as a single or a 01-05 as a dual. Just let me know which car you have and I can send it to you ready to go. At the moment it is set up for the 98-00 single.

So basically i can take the module from my 99 airbag and put it on the 01+ airbags?
