the 01+ GS300 also uses the A650E. The 98-00 used the A650. The E stands for E-Shift. They should be the same as long as they're both A650e's.

curious why you need a tranny? Only asking since I beat on mine regularly and it has 156k.....I did see a GS400 trans on ebay awhile back...not sure if it was the e-shift or not.

if it was specifically listing GS400 as an application, it's the eshift.

After researchinga bit more, I was wrong, the GS3 did ocme with that tranny too...so you guys are correct.

I dont need one due to a tranny being bad, I just need one. I sold my stock tranny when I installed my TH400 set up with the twin turbo build. I found a place that says they can build the stock tranny to hold the 600 rwhp that will be thrown at it, so IM thinking about trying it out.

Don't believe shops who claim they can build the A650E transmission to hold anything over 450rwhp reliably. The biggest problem that toyota transmission face is the sprag and bearings. I'm currently in the process of figuring out how to make it stronger by having a compay make custom heavy duty sprag and bearings for me to test out. Also, you'll need to have the gears cryo treated and friction plates upgraded to a heavier duty material. Right now, my friend who is the transmission builder for the 3SX 3000GT Drag car is figuring out how to make it stronger but needs a spare transmission that we can test on. PM me if you are interested in testing out one of our transmission.

I also have a spare 98+ sc400 transmission if you're interested. I was holding on to it for the same reasons, but priorities have changed and I doubt I'll ever get around to sending it out to get built.
