Same thing happened to me, except I made it worse by trying to fiddle with the cable and the housing. Now it's bent beyond repair.
mine too although for a while mine worked the same. now somedays it does and somedays it doesnt, hence why i bought a new actuator...although i would have loved to bought just the cables (i even looked .....trying to buy a bad actuator or a junkyard one) but everyone wanted like 100 for a junkyard actuator and noone was selling the assy on here
The actuators from the 01+ are slightly different when it comes to the front ones. I believe around 02 was when you can open your door while the lock/unlock switch is closed. Sometimes later, the passenger side also got the same feature. If your car has this feature, then you will lose it with the 98-00 actuator. This applies to the fronts only.

Can anyone confirm whether the cables for the actuators are the same between 98-00 and 01-05? Are they interchangeable?
