It will fit into an 06-08. the only difference between the two are the trim around the unit and the mounting brackets, which you can modified by drilling a few extra holes so that the unit will fit correctly.

I saw a post where someone put a 09 unit in a 06 and there was a small gap beteween the unit and the upper vents.
