I just purchased and installed kyb's on my car that didn't even need struts. They are the same, I haven't noticed any difference in ride. Maybe you had blown struts and replaced with new and you felt they were stiffer. I put them side by side they are identical in every way minus the KYB sticker on the new shock.

bump in nyc and need 2 rear struts for the 06 gs430 as well it has avs also so im in the same boat. Salvage yards have them but was wondering if i could get better here. Pm me if you can help. Thanks
