Picking it up tonight

Delivery experience
Before tonight, the '03 RX300 was our only Lexus and having been in the business I had been impressed with the Lexus commitment at Roswell Lexus. It was during a routine service visit I became re-acquainted with an old friend David Jamison that I knew many years ago. Long and short of it, he let me drive the 400h, and a new '10 RX350 and I knew I wanted a 450h.
The car is everything I thought it would be and more. I'll get along w/o the roof rails. They made a call to Lexus for me and were told the real reason they left them off the FWD model was to get the last bit of streamlining for the MPG rating. I wasn't going to use them anyway.
The delivery took about an hour and a half during which they d/loaded the contacts in my phone to the NAVSYSTEM H/D. What a system, blows away my Magellan by quantum leaps and is a current map. At the end of the presentation I knew there were still things we hadn't gone over. I asked for a diploma . Of course they said it would be in the mail. During the 30 mile return to home over hwy and city streets, I had an average of 30.6mpg.
I'll post photos when I get a chance and more info. Bottom line for now, is WOW !!!

Couple of more pics
I am learning more about this car every little bit. And I love what I'm finding out except for one minor disappointment that I've already gotten over. Now I have an 'excuse' to buy the new Escort radar detector that's battery operated. The closest power plug is buried deep in the console too far away. I don't smoke and wouldn't have missed if not trying to plug in my detector. Other than that, no complaints. Enjoy the photos.
Oh, one more neat thing re: tire pressures. A readout on the dash shows each and every one as in; 33,33,34,34 How do they do that?

From pics, I saw
1. Auto dimmer is set
2. 19" split-5-spoke alloy wheels
3. Assist parking sensors
4. no roof rails
5. additional air inlet in the front bumper looks decent
Agreed, that power plug things are painful... dunno what Lexus is thinking!!!

OK folks, ours is finally here (a couple days late, it arrived this morning). Since we are flying out to Seattle early Friday morning, it does not look like it will be totally ready for us to get delivery by tomorrow. Ours is the first one in IA.
They did the neccessary prep work on it already and incredibly enough I was able to test drive it this afternoon, but unfortunately, my wife was unable to try it since she was running errands trying to get ready for our trip. I drove it for about 30 miles in the city and interstate. Let me tell you all that this car is incredible as others have already stated. It is like night and day comparing this hybrid to the previous one. It is quieter, more powerful (though I did not go over 70 mph on this test), and it has amazing high tech features. I did not know how to use all of them yet, but the radar cruise and HUD are two that I tried and loved them. The steering response is awesome. I hate the steering on the RX400h. Ours is all WWD. It is Tungsten Pearl with black interior (photos will have to wait until after we return from Seattle on week of July 6 since I just don't have the time right now). It has every option imaginable except for rear seat entertainment system. BTW, in my test, I averaged more than 35 mpg based on the looks of the bar graph. Again, I was not too familiar with all the technology on it and I am not sure what the exact mileage was on this test drive. Based on what I read on reviews and my brief experience today, I bet this car can average well above 30 mpg with the "eco" option on.
The MSRP on it is $59,774 and the dealer is taking $1,000 off since I have been a loyal customer for many years. They are not giving any discounts on this vehicle around the country.
