Flush mounted Dash Monitor Project :GS400
I worked on this project for over one month with Jawnthen, who did a similar install. See his thread in the GS forum: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...threadid=86615

For those non-GS owners, here is the before shot of a stock system with a standard Pioneer deck and AC controls above it.

Bolt on Installation
The monitor and AC controls utilize the factory radio brackets to mount into the dash. New holes were drilled to align with the re-located AC control and the rear of the brackets were trimmed on the back edge in order to clear the wiring harnesses, then protective plastic trim was added to the metal edge to protect wires from fraying.

Since the AC controls were originaly located at the top of the dash opening, the unit had to be narrowed in order to fit down below. The areas marked by the tape were trimmed off in order to fit .
This monitor project has only just begun. Stay tuned for 2 more major upgrades in the future.

Very nice....
Very nice work RMMGS4, you and jawnthen both.... You say this is stage 1 of 3, I can't wait to see the next to steps, looking very good so far.... I wish I could do something like that with my SC, I just want something that is factory looking.... But something that is upgraded over the OLD SC factory equipment LOL....
Keep us updated, can't wait on the next 2 steps

EV ftw!!!
Yeah I can't wait to see the next steps - this already looks amazing! This is exactly the kind of install I would like to do in my Nak 99 GS400! How much would you charge to do something like this for a fellow CL member?

Thanks Guys !
Hameed,
I gave you a detailed response in your PM. Jawnthen and I are just 2 engineers who are obviously having more fun applying our skills at home than at work. To put it simply, if we did this kind of work for everyone, we wouldn't have any time left to do any more fun projects for ourselves !
I provided enough photos so that a competent installer should be able to look at them and come up with something very close.

Regardless, you guys have done an amazing install here - it looks like a factory job!!
