GS 350 F Sport or E350 coupe?
Anyone have any thoughts on what would be the most powerful, fastest, and more sporty handling? Looking at 2013 GS F Sport or 2012 E350 coupe.

Two different type of car, we just got a 13 GSFsport and we love it. It beats my 2010 E63 in handling and interior is so much more luxurious. You need to drive the two cars for yourself and only you can answer which one is the right one for you. GL and you cant go wrong between the two cars.

In acceleration, handling and braking tests, it was one class slower/worse.

Except that in this case, he mentioned the E350 coupe.
Two different classes of vehicle here. The decision here will depend on if he wants something with two doors or four doors...........

If it is the sedan, then yeah, the GS F-sport looks nicer compared to E class sedan.

In any case, if he wants something different, I would suggest a GS F-sport. In my area, there are too many E-class cars on the streets. Also a number of 520d cars as well. It would be neat to see a Lexus GS for a change.
Well anyways, in his case, he should test drive both and let him make the decision for himself

I love AMG and this can't get any more unbias than this

That is one stunning endorsement of the 4th Gen GS or else it's one damning indictment of the 2010 E63 AMG. Isn't the E63 AMG a $90-100K car when optioned up?

In terms if drivability and sportiness, they both meet my requirements, although I give a slight edge to the GS. That being said, the feeling I get when I see or sit in the E350 Coupe is out of this world.
So I guess now what it comes down to is whether the E350 Coupe is worth:
* The $15K premium (Canadian)
* Worries of having reliability issues 5 years down the road (I hope to keep the car 7+ years)
* The impracticality of occasionally putting my toddler in the back seat
* The higher finance rate (1.3 vs 3.4)
* The knowing that I've bought a car that is based on a "lower" C-class platform (superficial, I know)
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The GS is a full second faster in both 0-60 and 1/4 times compared to the E350 sedan. The E350 coupe will do better than the sedan but I doubt it will be enough to catch up to the GS350.

The E350 coupe is based on the C-Class platform and is considerably smaller and lighter than the GS.
Also there is image - if he is considering coupe, he must be concerned about image. The E350 Coupe is a much cooler car, than a Japanese Family Sedan. The GS350 may be technically better, but it isn't cool.

Like I said you shouldn't compare them because E350 Coupe is based on C-Class platform, and is considerably lighter than the GS350 and the E350 sedan. It's like comparing IS350 with GS350.
