So my guess was accurate when I read Roy Mallady lent his LFA to caranddriver. I knew it must be for the ligtning lap.
Fine showing by the LFA. Although, 2:55 is an OK lap time, but I expected it to be in the 2:50 - 2:51 region considering the caliber of LFA. Oh well.

I am shocked as well. Considering, LP570-4 did 2:51 on Corsa tires (arguably, slower than LFA on majority of the tracks). The old issue of S001 tires on LFA holds it back as well.
p.s. Congrats on your LFA. When are you posting pictures, videos of it?? Also, is your #475 LFA not a 2013???

So is anyone a subscriber of caranddriver?? Did anyone read what they say about the LFA yet??
Don't think it is available at bookstores yet.

Bought the magazine and read the article.
They attribute LFA's slower lap time to these issues:
1 - Ferrari engineers there had told C&D that it is OK for them to crash the 458 Italia as long as they get the quickest lap time. Roy Mallady however was very protective of his LFA (they mention it was the first in the US and that he intends to buy a second one) and they were very conscious of the fact that it is a customer owned LFA and they could have extracted more, if they had the crash waiver like Ferrari gave.
2 - They criticized LFA's poor tires compared to Ferrari's super sticky tires for the 458 Italia's better lap time.
3 - LFA's test weight was 244 lbs heavier than that of the 458 Italia.
4 - They left the card open for next year where they hope to get the LFA Nurburgring edition plus a crash waiver (good luck with that!).

Re-read it back again
C&D say Lexus told them:
"LFA Nurburgring Edition in USA is headed for the press fleet"
So that means LFA NE will be given to the press for testing.

Roy is awesome! Chris Harris let the world know about Ferrari testing Still the 458 is simply a beast, a Ferrari so good they won't make a special version, no Stradale or Scuderia. It laps like an Enzo. With the 430 Scuderia they really figured out the e-diff... i mean they drive like AWD in regards to grip! That says a lot as the LFA is a car that really is another car so well balanced it gives you super confidence.
I'm happy with results and glad to see the LFA included.
Actually real drivers crash and get right back in another car and act like nothing happened. Real drivers DO crash.
