Angry No Power

I just purchase 09 LS460 41k miles AWD. I was returning from a nice highway ride had driven about an hour doing an average around 80 getting 23.3MPH. As I was arriving home I stop at the store when i was leaving the store I turned right in front of traffic hit the accelerator and the car would barely move I released hit the gas again gunned it no power and the car gradually got up to speed 35MPH, So i went down the street a little came to a stop made a hard right and gunned it and my moped would get up to speed faster than the car would. Any advice.

Unplug your battery for a few minutes and try again. If it doesn't work, you may need to have your software re-flashed.

CONT DWS will cause the car to drift to the right. If your car has lass than 12k miles you can have this fixed for free by the dealership replacing parts. Realigning the car will have no effect. It's a camber issue. See below:

Default For the power problem...

This is an old TSIB, though it was revised last year. This is the latest version, and it sure sounds like what the doctor ordered for your power problem (as described).

Regarding the pull issue, FWIW... I had the same issue with Michelin Pilot Sport Plus A/S tires, which are directional (but symmetrical, unlike the DWS). I heard mixed things about the pull TSIB (from people in the know) and decided against it, as it was unclear that it would actually fix the problem. My fix? A different set of tires.

With the right set of good tires and proper toe alignment specs, the LS should track perfectly. I was skeptical, given that the pull on mine was so severe, but after replacing the tires, the problem was gone. Later on I got summer tires on OEM 19" wheels, and the car tracked like an arrow with those, right out of the box...

Many on this forum have the Conti DWS with no issues, so if your alignment is perfect, your specific tires may be the issue. All it takes is for one to be off...

Too strong. My Conti DWS on 2007 LS SWB RWD had no such tendency. Therefore "will" is incorrect.

I appreciate all the input I had directional tires and the dealer blamed it on them and discount kindly exchanged them after 35 days(sweet). The tires have only 100 miles on them and they pulled the same way.

They had just replaced the control arms and work on the brakes under recall. I took it to the dealer yesterday hopefully it will get resolved this time.

Kind of sad had an es350 that rode awesome and was so excited about getting the flagship car but between the hard pulling and no power it's been a little concerning hope they get it right this time. The rear end also makes a romping noise from stop and making a turn.

I only have 6000 miles left on warranty and the CU is offering a warranty through CUNA anybody had any experience with them considering calling the dealer in NEW Jersey since the dealers in sunny Florida want to hit you hard on the price.

FLORIDA IS THE WORST PLACE TO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. By law they must sell at retail price.

Even living in Florida you can buy a Lexus Platinum Extended Warranty from any Toyota or Lexus dealer in the country as long as you are still within the 4yr/50k factory warranty period. It doesn't matter where or how you acquired the car.

Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota will sell you a Lexus Platinum Warranty about 70% of what the same warranty costs in Florida. Call him at 800-530-5789 for quotes and details.

I'm in Florida and 3 months ago I bought one for my 2008 SC430 from him that has 10 days left on original factory warranty. Ive since used it at Wilde Lexus in Sarasota and Lexus of Pembroke pines with no problem.

He's easy to work with. He will pull service date from your vin. If you have recent service invoice from Lexus dealer that will confirm mileage.

Power loss issue = hesitation while acceleration. Search for that post.
