Wink Interesting Little Details Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

As an avid Lexus fan and owner, you think you know your car, but sometimes there are little surprises. Here's some little discoveries that are not always obvious or known in the brochures or out there, that might come in handy to the new potential owner.

1. Push-open fuel door, this is a first for all Toyota/Lexus cars I've owned versus the lever/remote button in the car.
2. Trunk floor mat. Yes, it came with one!
3. No sunglasses holder, even on non-sunroof models (mine). Bought a visor clip.
4. Non-ML versions have a questionable grainy matte black plastic in the console.
5. IS250 F-Sport does not have S/S+ mode. Only "Sport" like all regular IS. There's been lots of back and forth about this. Pic says it all. S/S+ mode only for the 350 with Adaptive Variable Suspension (in owner's manual)

Looks like the Canadian model is missing the SOS button on the roof also.

What's with no sunglasses holder even there's no SOS button?

BTW, you cannot open the fuel door if all doors are locked, even when the keys are in your pocket.

The interior lights and the puddle lights turn on when it's dark outside and the key (which probably is in your pocket) gets within 1m/3ft of the drivers door (haven't tried the passenger door).

The IS 300h F-Sport has the Sport/Sport+ mode.

When playing music from a USB memory stick, the songs are played in the order in which they appear on the file system. They are not sorted in any way.

No way to view the tire pressure on the IS 300h (I've checked, been through all settings and the drivers manual).

Can you play songs in random mode when using USB memory stick?

Yes you can. But I'm not sure you can play randomly from all the songs on the stick, or just from the current album... I'll have to check that out.

You can play random song from all in the stick when you press random button twice. One for random within album and the other for random from everything.

At night time, you will see two stripes of white light on the mouse -

The clip that mounts the usb cable can actually fit two wires instead of one -

Looking at the rims, I see that there are like a few metal tags on each, and I have no clue what they are -

And I hate that annoying gracenote crap -

Those metal tags on the inside of the rims are taped weights for wheel balancing. You may find unequal number of tape weights on each rims as no wheel or tire is manufactured in the same way.

Requested as in free? or you paid and ordered?

I want to add that I like how the visor lights come on after you reveal the mirror

Yeah . . . . .piggy backing WhiteISWay, what exactly does requested mean? Don't think the carperted trunk mat is standard. So if you requested one and received it for free, kudos to you for asking, and kudos for your dealers customer service!

In Canada, my car came with it. I saw another post where someone ordered it from Sewell so it surprised me when I saw my 3IS came with it. Pic doesn't lie!

Curious to know if that's not the case in the US... (we also get the all-season rubber mats standard which I believe you don't)
