Fresh off the launch of the stylish new MKZ sedan, the newly named Lincoln Motor Company is reportedly preparing for a lineup expansion. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the first new product joining the Lincoln brand is a small crossover based on the Ford Escape said to be called the MKC. We saw this machine testing a few months ago, and while we were hoping the name might be reserved for a future two-door model or even the diminutive Concept C hatchback, it looks like the "C" will stand for compact crossover instead.
The report also says that this crossover will be making its debut next month at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, so we'll have to wait until then to see what the new model looks like. Unlike the MKX, which is based off the Ford Edge, we would expect there to be a lot more differentiation between the MKC and the Escape like Ford managed to do with the newest Fusion and MKZ.
In addition to the new MKC, the article states new MKS and Navigator designs are expected to debut by 2014.

I wonder if Acura, Infiniti, Lincoln smoke the same stuff to come up with their names.....I do feel another SUV can add volume for them that they need. Look at how the JX has helped Infiniti sales.
The thing is they still have not explained wtf Lincoln is or stands for nor are they best at anything. So instead of tackling the hard issues, these companies tackle **** like names.
Wow us Lincoln. Make something the fastest, the best handling, the most economical and the lowest price with good styling. They have to make mind blowing products at this point to change perceptions or just will lag in the rear. Then again the JX does none of that and its sells which is pretty mind boggling.

Even that isn't really head-on. The SRX is around the same size as a Lexus RX, which is half step up inside from these cute utes. I expect this car to go directly against the Acura RDX as a slightly lower priced alternative to the GLK/Q5/X3 trio.

The nose…otherwise seems very well done…interior isn't mind blowing but seems solid. Should clearly add some sales, though I am not sure how well the current SUV they have sells…
I feel they are on to something but they need to really do something amazingly good to catch people's attention.
