Several members asked me to post a pic after beginning "the process". Well it has been a labor of love for someone new to this level of detailing. Basically this is what I've done:
1. clayed the car ( my first time )
2. applied 3 coats of Meg#9 to help with the swirls
3. applied 3 coats of Zaino Z5/ZFX
4. applied 2 coats of Z2/ZFX
5. used Z6 in between every coat
6. all applied by hand
I'll try to find time to add 2 more coats of Z2
Thanks to everyone for their encouragement and advice!

Thanks! Yeah you are right ..my arms could only take 3 -4 applications at one time & I was blown out around midnight. Didn't mean to suggest that I did all of that in the same day.
I'll try to add more Z2 and then maybe...just maybe even follow Dr. Shines suggestion of a final coat of souverian wax. Am I getting hooked or what?

Awesome work Mike. I think I'm going to spring for those wheel covers, even if they cost the same as the chrome exchange; will think about that when it's time to replace tires.
Can anybody tell me if it's worth the effort and expense to go the Zaino (or similar) route on my silver? Most people say only dark colors really benefit from it. I only did a coat of Zymol on my car, and looks pretty good. I also have a bottle of Meguiar's Gold somebody recommended for my vette, but decided to use the zymol instead, because it's also a cleaner. If somebody out there really knows if it makes a difference, your comments would be appreciated. Or what do you use for light colors.
Thanks.
JC

I have a friend with a silver car that used all kinds of products on it over the years, but we both agreed it didn't look a whole lot different (better) until he started using Zaino. After about 3 coats, it really brought up the metallic in the paint.
Worth a try IMO.

On the Zaino website it says to wait several hours between each coat. Each coat has to harden on to the paint before you can apply another coat, and that can take several hours. I don't think they want you to apply all the coats in one day. Check the Zaino website TIPS section for more info.

If you buy the ZFX you can apply 3 coats pretty much back to back to back with a short wait in between. If you don't have the ZFX, you need to wait 24 hours between coats.

I just did the same thing. Boy are my arms sore. I only did 2 coats each of the z2 and z5 , but everything else was the same. Since i have a garage ,i did it over a 3 day period.
I like zaino because it is much easier to apply than the meguirs i used to use. I don't need as much muscle, hehe. Keep in mind that the first application is the toughest, but it gets easier every time after. Only thing i hate about zaino is, i get addicted to adding a bunch of coats on it. In my mind i only want to add one coat of each product, but seeing the car shine, makes me keep on adding coats to make it shine even more.

Hello Fellow Zaino Fans,
I've read many of the "Zaino" related threads and have come to a Catch-22 decision.
Based on many folks who put Zaino on their cars, most of their colors were of the darker natured color, like black, blue, brown, red, etc.
A few did Zaino on their GS/SC/LS silver, white and lighter colored cars.
I've done the Meguiar thing and pretty satisfied, but after reading how wonderful Zaino is, I wanted to see for myself.
I have an '03 Millenium Silver.
Is it worth spending the money to get Zaino for my millenium silver color or should I just stick with my $50 buck Meguiar product line and keep detailing the way I've been doing.
Money isn't really an issue when it comes to detailing a $60k car, but if the results are the same compared to Meguiar's Products or any other high-quality detail line, is it worth the effort to try it, especially for a light colored car?
Anyone w/ SC430 Millenium Silver or any other GS/LS/SC silver pics with Zaino to show me?
This would help me in deciding to switch to Zaino stay with Meguiar.
Any info would be helpful......Thanks so much......teeman3
