Default Strip detail product....

I'm trying to get something to stick to the side of my center console with 3M adhesive and it keeps coming off. I've cleaned it thoroughly with 80% alcohol but I'm guessing a detail product that was applied prior to my buying the car a couple months ago is still there. Can anyone suggest something to strip off any "Armor-All" type product that won't harm the surface of the console?

Thanks!!

maybe steam. though alcohol is pretty harsh. if that doesn't do it.. not sure i'd try anything harsher.

could also just be that your particular console finish is not good for stuff sticking to it. can you post a pic?

I don't have a pic handy but it's just the standard hard plastic in a stock 2019. You know those overpriced interior protection products that use car dealers do to the car then charge you a couple grand for? It's had that done to it.
