I'm interested (esp with the Black Onyx RX) but will wait until it's available in stores. Hate being gouged by those S/H charges............

If there is a money back guarantee, then I will try anything.
I am sure S/H is not refunded, so I will wait till it hits the stores just in case.

It's available now in my local Advance Auto. Walked in this weekend to get some salt for the ice on my driveway and they had a big display.

I'll have to look for it locally here, it's about the time they said it would hit the shelves. Dave, do you recall what the price on it was?

BTW, I keep thinking -if I ever meet you, I'll have to tell myself NOT to be looking for Kramer, lol.

(Though i'm sure you wouldn't mind his bank account ).

I want to say it was about $30, but I'm only about 50% certain I remember correctly.

Edit - bought one today and the price was $18.88

These are selling locally here for $20. I'm thinking about trying it out.

Lol. Reminded me it's about time to change my avatar. I probably should get one that stops at 149MPH

K...That's the price they said it would initially be. Neo may be seeing it discounted initially in his market, that's a good price ($20) I think.

The new avatar is fine Dave, I think we'll cut you some slack on the mph overage.

I picked this up for $19.95 at WalMart and I think it is great for the following reasons:

1. The leave alone and dry thing works due to sheeting agents. If you do it right, there are no spots even in the sun.

2. I like the idea of filtered water hitting my car instead of plain hose water. That's gotta be good for the finish.

3. The soap quality seems fairly good. My ES is looking fine after each wash. I will soon experiment with P21S AutoBody Shampoo but this stuff works well.

4. Replacement soap is relatively inexpensive at $4.95 a bottle.

Why not get a half gallon of NXT wash, a lamb's wool mitt, a California Water Blade and some MF towels?

all that may come out to $35 (assuming you have a bucket), and that will last you for a good long time

Yea may take a little longer (10 - 15 min), but I'm sure the quality of the wash would be MUCH better

I'll try it again, but I did not have good luck with the first time. Perhaps I did not use enough of the drying spray, but my car did not self dry and did spot.

I also found the instructions lacking in rinsing the wash mitt / sponge. I found myself not rinsing it as much as I should with the soap sprayed on the car from the Mr Clean unit.

I'm going to try my leaf blower next time.

Dan,

Since this thread has bumped up again I've got a question...

Do you know if the Mr Clean stuff will be OK to use with a Zaino'd car? I assume I shouldn't use any products with oils in them.

Well Dave, that IS the $64.000 question isn't it? I have concerns about the shampoo and what's in it, and the only thing I know that's in it is a polymer, because they say so. On the face of it, that wouldn't pose a problem since Zaino is also a polymer, but that doesn't mean there's not some other things in there that may adversely affect a Z'd car.

So the short answer is; I don't know yet. I will try to do some research on it though, on my own and everyones' behalf.

FWIW, the "test car"( 2002 Camaro SS) I used the product on is a Zainoed car, and the owner hasn't reported anything weird since. We did only use it 1 x though. I haven't as yet used it on my T-Bird ( I rarely wash it, garage queen that gets mostly Q/D'ed ), but I did use it once on my GS as well and found no film etc.The sample kit ran out of filter and soap and I haven't broken down and purchased the refills yet, it's not too big a priority to me, especially since this question is in the back of my mind too. I need to know more.

If I come up with more info I will post here.

Bought the unit at AutoZone for $18.50 and with the $5.00 mail in coupon the total cost is $13.50.

Tried it on two vehicles today and it works as advertised. I noticed my wash mitt got really dirty. Time to toss it into the wash machine. The water did sheet off both vehicles and left them spot free. Quite a time saver.
