Correct order for detailing with ceramic
I've been hand washing/claying/polishing/waxing my cars twice a year for many years. I'm going to try the CarPro UK ceramic clearcoat. What's the best order? Do I apply the clearcoat instead of waxing or polishing or in addition to? What's the order?
- Hand wash
- Clay
- Polish
- Wax
- Clearcoat?

Pre soak
rinse
pre soak
contact wash
clay
rinse
polish
panel wipe
ceramic
if your swirls are light or they don't bother you, no need to polish. you can skip the polish step and proceed directly to ceramic.
personally i've chosen not to ceramic. i detail my cars often and frequently and see no meaningful benefit to ceramic as my cars have strong effective layers of other regularly applied sealants on them.
