Default Icon Rocklear?

Anyone tried Icon Rocklear instead of ceramic coating - system x max? The auto detailer gave me the choice between the 2 and recommended the first one. The strength, thickness, gloss , finish, and UV protection capabilities of Icon Rocklear outshine ceramic coating. Total price to do the whole car including windows and wheels $1400. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a great product. Before committing, Can you check with previous owners who have had it installed and get their comments and/or recommendations?

Did you choose the Icon Rocklear coating? I have been doing a lot of research on it and it definitely has more benefits than ceramic coating. The negative reviews I found seem more to do with the application than the product itself.

I have not chosen the Icon Rocklear coating yet. I'm hoping someone here has experience with it and can share their insights.

I went to the local install shop today and saw a bunch of vehicles in various stages of the process. The finished vehicles looked amazing! I was more comfortable with the coating after seeing it in person and having all of my questions answered. My Lexus RX 350h is currently being coated with Icon Rocklear; I can’t wait to see it!

I plan on contacting a nearby installer once I have a few rock chips taken care of. No sense protecting damaged paint.

I picked my vehicle up yesterday and could not be happier with the results! It looks great! I have not seen any issues (streaking, bubbles, holes, swirling, etc…) with the ICON on my car. The installer removed the 3M door edge guards & the clear protection strip on the top of my bumper because the ICON could not be placed over it. They said they could tape it off & go around them but I wanted the paint underneath them protect too. Luckily they were able to remove them without damaging the paint. I bought my car in April and I already have 3 extremely small rock chips on the side of the grill. The installer informed me that it is better to put the touch up paint on AFTER the ICON due to all the prep the car goes through prior to the application.I’m not sure how many rock chips you have or how large they are but after 30 days I will either apply the touch up paint myself or take it to the installer & have them apply it (free of charge). This installer also applied grapheme ceramic coating to the glass, rim faces, trim, plastics, lights & side mirrors. in addition, they gave a free courtesy interior “mini” detail. Everyone I encountered were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this installer; they have gained a customer for life!! I attached some photos for your viewing pleasure :-)

I have quite a few tiny chips. They meet the 5' rule (can't really see most of them unless you are within 5') but up close the car looks like it has been driven through a gravel pit. Maybe the rockclear will help correct the smallest of them like it does with most swirlmarks. I might just take it to the installer and see what they say. Out of curiosity did you have this installed in SE VA? I've heard good things about the installer there.

Yes, the installer is in SE VA! I highly recommend this installer! PM me if you would like the details. It’s worth going to talk to them if you live in the area.

Thank you!! I love the iridium color; makes the vehicle look very classy IMO. I hadn’t seen very many Lexus vehicles this color around until I brought mine home….now I see them everywhere lol. I am also very impressed with the Icon Rocklear!! I highly recommend protecting your RX500h with it.

I thought Iridium was Black, not Silver.

Not sure if it’s a new change since this is my first Lexus purchase. However, If you go to Lexus.com, for the 2024 RX350h vehicles, the silver color is called Iridium, the black is called caviar and there is a gray color called cloudburst gray. All my paperwork says my car is Iridium & it’s silver in color.
