Lexus stone chip touch up and Detailing
This is related to ES300h and color is Eminent White Pearl.
I have a stone chip exposing primer (gray) and ordered a touch up paint kit (a pen) through dealer to do it myself.
I also asked about protection film on 1/3 hood and 1/3 fender around $1200 and sounds costly. What you suggest?
I recall dealer told me doing it for $450 but service department said they don't.
Question:
1) Should I do touch up before detailing in Lexus or after?
It make sense to do before, but wondering what you think.
2) How long should I wait after touchup?
3) How would you get protection with reasonable pricing?
Thanks.

Don't use the dealer for detailing. Find a detailer near you with a good reputation and go to them.
Also, I highly recommend doing full hood and full fenders. Partial PPF looks like garbage with the visible seam.
I got my whole front end (full good, fenders, bumper, headlights, and mirrors) for $1850. Don't use the dealer for PPF either, find a dedicated PPF installer near you with a good reputation. Better yet, find 5, send all 5 emails and get their pricing, go with the one with the best combo of pricing and quality.
As far as touching up before or after getting it details. Do it before, but tell the detailer that you used touchup paint and show them where. You run the risk of the polishers ripping out the touch up paint if you didn't apply it perfectly (or even if you did).
