Default cracked drivers side door

Is this common? How easy is it to repair?

Yes, and there are several threads floating around on the repair.

This forum only goes back to pg 7. I've checked out the other two forums for SC. I wish we could start a FAQ or a "how to" section like the supra guys do at mkiv.com.
Let me know if someone can link the forum topic-repair.

I recall a thread in the SC forums where someone found a retail patch-kit that seals the cracked leather like new. The kit itself was cheap, like under $20, and the color matching was great. I don't feel like looking for the thread because I know it's old, but there's your fix right there! I would suggest you first reinforce the plastic backing that broke though. If you happen to find the thread, please post it here so I can add the info to the FAQ.

I remember reading a thread about this cracking problem.

Here's the link to that thread.

Y'all keep calling that area that's cracked leather, but I don't think that's what it is... I think that's just vinyl with a 'leather' finish to it. The area below it (directly below the woodgrain on the door)... that's leather.
