E46CT is absolutely correct with regard to how easily the dashboard material is distorted / damaged. I saturate a microfiber or foam applicator pad with 303 Aerospace Protectant (130340), then apply to dash, door trim, center console etc.,Then follow up with microfiber cloth lightly to buff / absurd extra protectant.
