Anyone have advice on freshenibg up the interior wood paneling. Mine doesn't look bad but I have a couple of discolored spots. SInce the rest of the car looks new, I might as well bring the wood up to speed. I was told by the Lexus dealer the wood can't be taken off without breaking it. Putting in new wood cost almost a grand, plus they don't want to install it. That means refinishing it but most of looks good. Maybe re-staining it? What do you guys think?

Reggie try using some car wax.I know it sounds strange, but try it on a small spot, and work it in like you would your paint. Most wood kits have a clear coat on the top, just like your paint. If you have minor scratches try some mequeirs scracth X.It takes out scratches pretty good.Show me how it comes out on sunday.

If the clearcoat on it is worn through, or not glossy anymore, and you can't bring it up with a polish, you can respray it in place. You'd have to scuff it with ~800 grit sandpaper and then use a clearcoat (shaker can will work ) that's available from Dupli-Color or Krylon etc. Just make sure you mask it well and cover your entire interior, seats, dash , windows etc. because the spray will land on everything. A couple thin coats followed by a wet coat should suffice.
Cheers.
